1. Release fuel system pressure.
2. Drain engine coolant into a suitable container.
3. Remove air intake plenum as outlined under AIR INTAKE PLENUM.
4. Replace intake manifold in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 11.
5. Install gaskets with protrusions in position shown in Fig. 12.
6. On turbocharged models, tighten intake manifold mounting nuts one bank after the other using the following procedure:
a. Torque nuts in front bank to 2.2-3.6 ft. lbs.
b. Torque nuts in rear bank to 9-11 ft. lbs.
c. Torque nits in front bank to 9-11 ft. lbs.
d. Repeat steps d and e one more time.
7. On all models, apply lubricant sparingly to intake manifold mounting nuts.
