Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 19 Water Pump Attaching Bolts:

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Refer to TIMING BELT and remove timing belt as outlined, then remove crankshaft sprocket.
3. Disconnect water inlet pipe from water pump.
4. Remove water pump attaching bolts, then the water pump.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Coat O-ring with water to ease installation.
b. Refer to bolt length chart, Fig. 19, when installing water pump attaching bolts.
c. Tighten water pump attaching bolts to specifications.
