When replacing torsion axle and arm assembly refer to Figs. 10 and 11.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. On models with rear drum brakes, remove hub cap, then wheel bearing nut.
3. Remove drum, rear axle assembly, then rear brakes.
4. Remove parking brake cable, then brake hose and tube bracket.
5. On models with rear disc brakes, remove parking brake cable, then brake hose and tube bracket.
6. Remove rear disc brake caliper, hub cap, then wheel bearing nut.
7. Remove rear axle assembly, dust shield, the brake adapter.
8. On all models, remove lateral rod mounting nut and bolt.
9. Remove shock absorber lower mounting bolt and nut, then trailing arm mount bolts.
10. Remove torsion axle and arm assembly.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten all nut and bolts to specifications.
