EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

EGR Control Solenoid Location:

The EGR Solenoid Valve is a computer (ECU) controlled vacuum switching valve. It functions to limit the operation of the EGR Valve by interrupting its vacuum source upon ECU command. The ECU reads the voltage signal from the coolant temperature sensor to determine the engine's operating temperature and determines when to allow EGR valve operation.
