Fig. 14 Instrument Panel Removal & Installation:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Move temperature control lever to the Warm position, then drain engine coolant.
3. Remove horn shroud, then the steering wheel using a suitable puller.
4. Remove steering column panel.
5. Remove instrument panel lower cover, located below steering column. Fig. 14.
6. Remove lower and upper steering column cover.
7. Remove instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Panel/Service and Repair for procedure.
8. Remove console-to-floor attaching screws, then the console.
9. Remove instrument panel steering column bracket.
10. Remove air duct, then the lap heater duct.
11. Remove side defroster hose, then the defroster duct.
12. Remove glove box from instrument panel.
13. Remove ashtray from instrument panel.
14. Remove heater control attaching screws, then remove switch.
15. Remove undercover and under frame.
16. Remove fuse block cover, then the fuse block attaching screws.
17. Remove front pillar and side cowl trim.
18. Remove defroster garnish and grille using a suitable tool.
19. Remove center air outlet upper grille.
20. Disconnect electrical connectors and function cables.
21. Remove center reinforcement from instrument panel.

22. Remove instrument panel attaching bolts, Fig. 15.
23. Remove heater unit attaching bolts, then the heater unit.
24. Reverse procedure to install.
