PURPOSE

A new aluminum alloy-bodied power steering pump is used on the Mirage Turbo from March, 1989 forward. This bulletin describes the new pump and steps used in the repair procedure.

DETAILS OF CHANGE

The primary differences between the old and new pump are:
Main casting of the new pump is made of aluminum alloy. The pump body separates into 2 pieces instead of 3.

Due to these changes there are new pump mounting bolt torques and new repair parts and procedures.

The old and new pumps are interchangeable as complete units only.

Below and on the following pages are descriptions of the changes.

(1) Change in tightening torque of power steering oil pump mounting bolt, as indicated in the illustration.




(2) Change in components of power steering oil pump and its disassembly and reassembly procedures.

NOTE
(1) Reverse the disassembly procedure to reassemble.
(2) Service Points of Disassembly and Reassembly are the same as the conventional oil pump
