Front Disc Brakes

Fig. 1 Front Disc Brake Assembly. 1989 Models W/1.5L:

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
2. Remove sleeve bolt, A, Fig. 1, and lift caliper body upward, then support caliper with wire. Lockpin is coated with special grease. Use caution not to remove grease and ensure no dirt adheres to pin.
3. Remove inner and outer shim, pad assembly and pad liners from the torque member.
4. Press piston into cylinder using a suitable tool.
5. Install pad liners, pad assemblies and inner and outer shim onto the torque member.
6. Lower caliper body into position, then install sleeve bolt A. Tighten bolt to specification.
7. Install wheel.
