Front Disc Brakes

Fig. 7 Exploded view of front disc brake assembly.:

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2. Remove lower caliper slide pin, Fig. 7. Slide pin is coated with special grease. Do not remove this grease or get dirt on pin.
3. Lift caliper up and support with wire.
4. Using tool MB990520 or equivalent, push piston into caliper.
5. Install pad retainer.
6. Install pad and shim to caliper support as an assembly.
7. Slide caliper body over brake pads and install slide pin, torquing to 61-69 ft. lbs.
8. Install wheel.
