PURPOSE

Because wear indicators have been added to the disc brake pads of some models, the pad thickness wear limit specification has been unified for all 1987 models (except Precis). The new and old pad thickness wear limits are shown below. The wear limit means that when the pad wears down to 2 mm (0.08 in.), the wear indicator groove is no longer visible and the pad should be replaced. As reference to this bulletin, write the STB number In the revision box and change the wear limit specification on the following pages of the affected Service Manuals.

NOTE: The wear limit for the drum brake shoes is NOT changed.
