PURPOSE
To improve shift feeling of the KM170-series automatic transmission in 1987 Galant, Mirage and Cordia/Tredia vehicles, the manual control shaft has been modified (Figure 1).
EFFECTIVE TRANSMISSION NUMBER
The modified shaft has been added to production vehicles beginning with the following transmission number.

MODIFICATION DETAILS
^ The upper O-ring groove in the manual control shaft has been modified as shown in Figure 2.
^ As a result of the O-ring groove change, the upper O-ring (smaller of two) has also been changed.
