PURPOSE
This bulletin is a reminder not to mishandle the fragile ceramic Cold Mixture Heater used on the 1987 Mirage with 1.5L engine. As reference to this bulletin, please write the STB number in the revision box on Page 14-15 of the 1987 Mirage Service Manual.

INSTRUCTIONS
The Cold Mixture Heater is a thick spacer located between the carburetor and intake manifold. See Fig. 1. It contains a heating element that is made of ceramic, a material which has excellent thermal characteristics but which is very brittle. If the Cold Mixture Heater is dropped or strikes against a hard object, the ceramic element is almost certain to be damaged and cannot be repaired. Therefore, please be careful not to damage the ceramic element when handling the Cold Mixture Heater, and if the heater is dropped it must be replaced.
