Brake Pads, Replace

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
2. Remove parking brake cable.
3. Remove lower lock pin, Fig. 4, and lift caliper body upward, then support caliper with wire. Lock pin is coated with special grease. Use caution not to remove grease and ensure no dirt adheres to pin.
4. Remove outer shim and pad assembly from caliper support.
5. Remove pad clips B and C.
6. Press piston into cylinder using a suitable tool. Ensure stopper grooves in rear of piston are in the vertical position.
7. Install pad clips, then the pad and shim as an assembly onto the caliper support. Pins on back side of brake pad must be placed in grooves of piston.
8. Lower caliper body into position, then install lower lock pin. Torque bolt to 16-23 ft. lbs.
9. Install wheel.
