1. Remove the air cleaner cover and air duct.
2. Run the engine at idle and verify that when the thermo sensor temperature is less than 30 degrees C or 86 degrees F that the cold air side inlet is closed and that when the thermo sensor temperature is greater than 45 degrees C or 113 degrees F that the cold air inlet side opens, Fig. 166.

Note that it may be necessary to apply heat with a hair dryer or heat gun and/or to cool the thermo sensor with compressed air, Fig. 167.
