Nike Dataliner Bench
(Universal System) The equipment evaluated consisted of the bench, the laser measuring system, data sheets, transport beams, two pulling beams with trolleys, two pulling units, rocker-panel clamp assemblies, two "FlexLoc" arms, and four adjustable jack stands. The bench is equipped with casters allowing movement within the shop. When not in use the bench, which measures 3 feet by 13 feet 6 inches, can be set flat on the floor and a vehicle can be parked over it. The working height of the bench can be adjusted by the jack stands from 14 inches to 23 inches. This allows convenient access to the vehicle underbody and provides a comfortable working height.
The adjustable jack stands will also compensate for an uneven floor. Vehicles are anchored by adjustable rocker panel clamps. Measuring is accomplished by the laser beam (110 volt) and plastic scales which will identify the proper location, but not the angle, of the control point. There is no provision for "locking" restored areas. However, jigging for the installation of structural components is provided by the two "Flex-Loc" arms. Removal of mechanical parts is not necessary with this measuring system and no additional equipment is required to measure different makes and models. Pulling was provided by the two pulling beams equipped with the pulling units.
This system allows multiple and 360~ pulls. Pots and rail systems, currently in shop use, are not adaptable to the bench. After a pull has been made, the position of the vehicle should be checked. If its position has not been maintained it will be necessary to recalibrate the measuring system. Using a floor jack, one skilled technician is required for setup and takedown. Time required for setup and takedown is approximately two hours. For additional information please contact:
