Carburetor and EGR Valve Reinstallation

1. Scrape the old carburetor base gasket from both the carburetor and the intake manifold.

Note:
Avoid turning the carburetor upside down. This reduces the possibility of the rollover ball to lodge between the float and the ledges in the float chamber causing the fuel supply to the float chamber to shut off.

2. Using a new EGR valve gasket from the EMR-92-011 emissions parts kit, reinstall the EGR Valve.

3. Shake the carburetor and listen for the roll-over ball rattle. If no rattle is heard repair as necessary.

4. Using the new carburetor gasket from the emission kit, reinstall the carburetor using the reverse order of the removal procedure. Remove the locking clamp pliers from the coolant hose and check all vacuum hose routings and carburetor fastener torques.

Bolt by Sub-EGR Valve:
4.9 - 7.8 N-m (3.6 - 5.8 Ft.lbs.)
Carburetor through bolts:
13 - 19 N-m (9.4 - 14 Ft.lbs.)

5. Refill the cooling system and pressure test for leaks.
