Description of On-Board Diagnostics

Self-diagnosis is a system in which the input signal from each sensor is monitored by the ECU. If an abnormality occurs in the input signal, the abnormal item is memorized by the ECU. These abnormal conditions (diagnostic codes) can be read from the ECU using a suitable voltmeter.
