Fig. 1 Testing single terminal sensor:

1. Heat sensor by holding it under water as shown in Fig. 1, then connect suitable tester.
2. Continuity should be present at 180-190° F. Continuity should not be present at 172-183° F.
3. If continuity is not as specified, replace sensor.
