MODEL 1985 1.8L, 2.0L & 2.4L Engines
PURPOSE This bulletin is issued to document a production change which occured in May, 1985, for the 1.8L, 2.0L and 2.4L engines.
INTERCHANGEABILITY Parts are interchangeable in sets but not individually. For example, if replacing an earlier drive gear with one of later design, you must also replace the front case assembly, oil seal, oil pump sprocket, nut and timing belt lower cover. Note the significant increase in tightening torque for the new, larger-diameter nut.
DETAILS OF MODIFICATION Part numbers and descriptions, engine application, and details of the changes are tabulated below and on Page 2. Please note that in the illustrations arrows show direction of change, pointing from the earlier design toward the later design. For example, 12 - 10 means the new dimension is 12mm, the old 10mm.
