This bulletin is issued to clarify MMSA recommendations for automatic transmission fluids. These recommendations apply to all 1983-1985 models and supersede all previous recommendations.

Notes: 1) Automatic transaxles filled with Ford Type H fluid during the Performance Improvement Program may be topped-up with Dexron II.
2) Service Manuals recommend "Dexron" or "Dexron II." Since "Dexron" fluid has been superseded in the U.S. by "Dexron II", the "Dexron" recommendation no longer applies, and "Dexron II" is the only recommended fluid.
