INTRODUCTION
If the air conditioner or condenser fan on an air-conditioned 1984 Cordia or Tredia fails to operate, check the power relay bracket for proper grounding. The power relay is grounded through the bracket attaching bolt and it is possible that paint inside the body weld nut may not allow for a proper ground.
CORRECTION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the power relay bracket attaching bolt and clean out the threads of the weld nut with a M8 x 1.25 tap.
2. Reinstall the relay bracket and bolt. Torque the mounting bolt to 10 N-m (8 ft.lbs.) Check that the system operates when the A/C switch is turned "ON."
