This bulletin is issued to clarify the Service Manual specifications for brake push rod clearance. The brake push rod clearance value at atmospheric pressure is different from the clearance value when a vacuum is applied to the booster.

PUSH ROD CLEARANCE MEASUREMENT
1. Clearance with vacuum applied to the booster should be measured with the engine idling.
2. Clearance without vacuum applied to the booster should be measured only after pumping the brake pedal several times after the engine is shut off to bring the booster to atmospheric pressure.

The clearance dimension to be measured is shown in Fig. 1. The clearance values are given in Table I.
