HIGH ALTITUDE IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains a clarified procedure and corrected ignition timing specifications for trucks and Monteros with high-altitude kits. These specifications supersede those given in STB-86-25-004 REVISION issued October, 1986.
SPECIFICATIONS CHANGED
The timing specifications for the two engines with distributor vacuum hoses disconnected and plugged are shown.
PROCEDURE CLARIFICATION
Before checking ignition timing, remove the distributor vacuum hoses and plug them. Then set ignition timing to the specifications given above. When the hoses are re-connected, the High Altitude Compensator (HAC) will automatically advance the timing approximately 5° at high altitudes.
