Pulsed Secondary Air Injection: Testing and Inspection
1. Start the engine and run at idle.
2. Disconnect the air hose from the reed valve.
3. Place a small steel plate over the hose end and test for suction. Verify that there is no blow back of exhaust gas. CAUTION: When using this proceedure excercise great caution to prevent being burned by backstreaming exhaust gases which can occur if the reed valve is broken or malfunctioning.
4. Reconnect the hose to its original location.
