CORDIA/TREDIA TURBO IDLE QUALITY AND DRIVEABILITY
NO. STB-83-14-010
DATE December, 1983
MODEL 1984 Turbo, Cordia/Tredia
In order to optimize idle quality and driveability of 1984 turbocharged Cordia/Tredia models, it may be helpful to pay special attention to the items listed below.
ISC/TPS ADJUSTMENT - IDLE QUALITY
Be sure the Idle Speed Control and Throttle Position Sensor are adjusted as described in STB-83-14-009.
FUEL INCREASE SENSOR - COLD DRIVEABILITY
Since the fuel increase sensor pin is in the ISC connector, good cold driveability depends on the connector being properly connected.
TROUBLESHOOTING ROAD-LOAD SURGE
If you should encounter a road-load surge condition, check the following:
^ Is inlet air hose from turbo to mixer body misaligned or loose?
^ Is pressure exchange solenoid valve not operating properly?
^ Are spark plugs misfiring?
^ Is there excessive resistance or poor insulation in high tension cables?
^ Is O2 sensor not functioning or a poor connection?
^ Is air cleaner pressure nipple clogged or hose restricted?
^ Is EGR valve opening prematurely?
