MODEL Starion
Improper hatch stay switch adjustment may prevent the Starion rear hatch window wiper and defogger from operating. Improper adjustment may also cause arcing and corrosion of the stay switch contacts.
Adjust right and left side stay switches using the following procedure.
1. Open the rear hatch and locate both right and left side stay switches.
2. Loosen the left side stay switch retaining screw.
NOTE: Removal of the rear hatch trim is not necessary.
3. Using a flat blade screwdriver inserted as shown, force the stay switch downward approximately 2 mm (.080 in.). Retighten the retaining screw.
4. Gently bend the three male stay switch contacts outward to ensure a good connection.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to adjust the right side stay switch.

1. Follow normal warranty claim procedures.
2. Use Labor Operation Code: 23-40-29-90.
3. Use Adjustment Time of 0.2 hours.
4. Use Failure Code 99.
