3. Use a gear puller to remove the counter overdrive gear and the ball bearing. Remove these two parts and the 1 - 2 speed shift rail at the same time. (134009)

4. Remove the spacers and the counter reverse gear from the countershaft gear.
5. Remove the spacer, steel ball, overdrive gear, needle bearing, bearing spacer, bearing sleeve, synchronizer assembly, stopper plate and spacer from the mainshaft. When it is hard to remove the bearing sleeve from the mainshaft due to tight interference between these parts, attach a gear puller to OD-R synchronizer hub and remove sleeve together with OD-R synchronizer hub.



6. Remove the reverse idler gear and needle bearing.

7. Remove the reverse idler gear shaft tightening bolts.

8. Remove the reverse idler gear shaft by driving it from the inside of the case with a punch. (134011)

9. Remove the rear bearing retainer.



10. Remove the mainshaft bearing snap rings.

11. Remove the mainshaft center bearing with bearing puller (MD998020) and adapter (MD998028). (130007)

12. Remove the front bearing retainer and spacer.



13. Remove the two snap rings from the main drive gear bearing and then remove the bearing using special tool (MD998020). (119008)

14. Drop the mainshaft down into the case and remove the counter gear.

NOTE:

The counter gear has a tight fit in the case but it WILL come out.
