7. To remove the extension housing, push the change shifter down to the left side to move the control finger out of the selector grooves. Then remove the extension housing by pulling it rearward.
Shift Forks and Rails
1. Using a pin punch, remove the 3-4 and 1-2 speed shift fork spring pins. (134006)
2. Drive out the overdrive and reverse shift fork spring pin. (134007).
3. Remove the countershaft mounting nut.
4. Place the shift rails into neutral position.
5. Remove OD-R and 3-4 shift rail toward the rear of the transmission case, and remove OD-R shift fork.
6. Remove the counter shaft rear bearing and the counter overdrive gear. Remove these parts and 1-2 shift rail at the same time.
Mainshaft and Countershaft Locking Nuts
1. Remove the main shaft rear bearing and two snap rings.
2. Bend back the lock washers and loosen the two locking nuts (Mainshaft and countershaft rear ends.) The nuts can be loosened by double-engaging reverse and 2nd gears. (134008)
