Because headlamp arms and links may now be serviced individually, this bulletin is issued to supplement the Service Manual information on servicing the 1983-84 Starion headlamp linkage. As reference to this bulletin, please place an orange label at the top of page 8-151 of the 1983 Starion service manual and page 8-209 of the 1984 Starion Service Manual.

Since the headlamp pop-up linkage arms and links are now available as individual replacement parts, please disregard the caution notice advising against disassembly of the motor and linkage.
The following steps are added to provide instructions for replacing the links and arms.
LINK REPLACEMENT
Remove the snap ring securing the link to the arm, and replace the link.
ARM REPLACEMENT
1. Before disassembling the old arm from the motor shaft, mark the arm and the shaft as shown.
2. Remove the old arm from the shaft, and mark the new arm in the same location as the mark on the old one.
3. Align the mark on the new arm with the mark on the shaft, and install the new arm.
