MODEL 1983-85 Starion
PURPOSE
This bulletin describes a field replacement kit and procedure for replacing Starion alternator Battery terminal wiring harnesses that show signs of high resistance or temperature discoloration.
PARTS AVAILABLE
To reduce resistance at high electrical output, thus preventing heat buildup and harness deterioration due to excessive heat, a Wiring Harness Kit, Part No. MB530853, is available for installation. The kit contains one double-wire "B" Terminal harness with twin 5 sq. mm, conductors and a soldered alternator terminal, and five cable bands (plastic wire ties) to secure the harness properly.
HIGHER TIGHTENING TORQUE
A higher tightening torque - 26 in.lb. - is specified for the terminal nut.
