Fig. 8 Rear oil seal removal:

REAR OIL SEAL, REPLACE


1. Remove screws attaching crankshaft rear oil seal retainer, then the retainer, Fig. 8.
2. Remove separator from retainer, then the oil seal.
3. Install new seal into retainer, then the separator. Ensure oil hole is positioned at separator bottom.

MAIN BEARING CAPS

1. Install main bearing caps in sequence and ensure arrows on caps are pointed in direction of timing chain, Fig. 9.

OIL PUMP & SILENT SHAFT

1. Refer to Fig. 10 and remove silent shaft screw, then the silent shaft.
2. Remove oil pump to cylinder block screw, then the oil pump.
