The following information is issued to supplement the Body and Sheet Metal Section of the 1983 Cordia/Tredia Service Manual for front bumpers.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
All automatic transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias and manual transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias manufactured since February 1, 1983 have a flexibly mounted front bumper. The bumper appears to be "loose," however, when the engine is idling, the bumper actually serves as a dynamic vibration absorber to counteract engine movement.
Manual transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias beginning with the following Vehicle Identification Numbers have flexibly mounted bumpers.
Apply the orange stickers supplied with this Service Technical Bulletin to the upper right hand corner of pages 23-17 and 23-19. The stickers contain referral information to this bulletin.
