The 1983 Cordia/Tredia Service Manual has been updated as follows:

Apply this label to the top of page 21-102 in the Cordia/Tredia Service Manual.
The disassembly and reassembly procedures for the Carrier Assembly and Overrunning Clutch have been added:
PROCEDURE FOR DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY OF CARRIER ASSEMBLY
Straighten the tabs of three lock plates and then remove the three bolts.
Remove the overrunning clutch outer race assembly, Also, remove the overrunning clutch end plate.
For removal of the thrust bearing, it is sufficient to remove one short pinion only. Pull out a pinion shaft and spacer bushing. Remove the short pinion, taking care not to lose any of the 20 rollers of the pinion.
Take out thrust bearing.
Install the new thrust bearing into the carrier, making sure it is correctly seated in the carrier.
Apply petrolatum liberally to the bore of the short pinion and insert the 20 rollers.
Align the holes in the rear thrust washer and the front thrust washer with the shaft hole in the carrier. Install the short pinion and the spacer bushing and align the holes, making sure the rollers do not come out of position.
Insert the pinion shaft so that its flattened end is properly aligned with the rear thrust plate hole.
Stick the overrunning clutch end plate to the overrunning clutch with petrolatum. Install the overrunning clutch assembly to the carrier and align the bolt holes.
Install three lock plates and three bolts and tighten bolts to 7.8-9.8 N-m (5.7-7.2 ft.lbs.)
NOTE:
Do not reuse lock plates.
Bend the tab of each lock plate against the bolt head.
PROCEDURE
FOR REPLACING THE OVERRUNNING CLUTCH
With the introduction of service parts, the procedure for replacing the Overrunning Clutch has been established as shown in the following:
For removal of the outer race, first perform steps
(1) and (2) of the Carrier Assembly disassembly and assembly procedure. Push the Overrunning Clutch out of the race with your fingers as illustrated.
Install the end plate to the outer race.
Push the Overrunning Clutch into the outer race. The arrow mark on the outer circumference of the cage must point upward as shown. For subsequent assembly, follow steps
(9) through (11) of the Carrier Assembly disassembly and assembly procedure.
