PINPOINT TEST B: THE SELECTOR LEVER IS OUT OF CORRECT GEAR RELATIONSHIP

B1 CHECK THE SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENTS FOR DAMAGE
- WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in Vehicle Jacking and Lifting. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.
- Gain access to the shift control components.
- Ignition In ACC.
- Apply the brake pedal.
- Observe all shift control components while moving the selector lever through all ranges.
- Are any of the components damaged?
Yes
REPAIR as necessary. REINSTALL all components. TEST the system for normal operation. If equipped with fire suppression system, GO to B6.
No
GO to B2.

B2 CHECK THE SELECTOR LEVER CABLE AND BRACKET INSTALLATION
- Check to make sure the selector lever cable and bracket installation is correct. Refer to Selector Lever Cable and Bracket Service and Repair.
- Is the selector lever cable and bracket installed correctly?
Yes
GO to B3.
No
REINSTALL the selector lever cable. GO to B3.

B3 CHECK THE SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT
- Check to make sure the selector lever cable adjustment is correct. Refer to Selector Lever Cable Adjustment Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.
- Is the selector lever cable adjusted correctly?
Yes
GO to B4.
No
ADJUST the selector lever cable. GO to B4.

B4 CHECK THE SELECTOR LEVER INDICATOR ADJUSTMENT
- Check to make sure the selector lever indicator adjustment is correct. Refer to Selector Lever Indicator Adjustment Adjustments.
- Is the selector lever indicator adjusted correctly?
Yes
GO to B5.
No
ADJUST the selector lever indicator. GO to B5.

B5 CHECK THE TR SENSOR ADJUSTMENT
- Check to make sure the Transmission Range (TR) sensor adjustment is correct. Refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle &/or Transmission Control Systems, Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Adjustment.
- Is the TR sensor adjusted correctly?
Yes
REFER to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle &/or Transmission Control Systems. If equipped with fire suppression system, GO to B6.
No
ADJUST the TR sensor. TEST the system for normal operation. If the condition persists, REFER to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle &/or Transmission Control Systems Diagnosis By Symptom. If equipped with fire suppression system, GO to B6.

B6 REPOWER THE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
- WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
- Verify that the fire suppression system is repowered. Refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting, Fire Suppression System Depowering and Repowering.
- Is the fire suppression system repowered?
Yes
Fire suppression system repowering is complete.
No
REFER to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting for Fire Suppression System Depowering and Repowering procedure.
