Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Selector Lever Cable
Removal
All vehicles
1. Move the selector lever to position "N".

Vehicles with 2.5L engine
2. Remove the Air Cleaner (AC).





All vehicles
3. Disconnect the selector cable from the automatic transaxle selector lever.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Disconnect the selector cable.
- Disconnect the selector cable from the bracket.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Remove the heat shield.





6. Disconnect the selector cable from the selector lever assembly.
1 Disconnect the selector cable.
2 Unlatch the selector cable adjusting cap and disconnect it from the bracket.

Installation





All vehicles
1. Attach the selector cable to the selector lever assembly.

1 NOTE: Do not lock the selector cable adjusting cap.
Insert the selector cable to the bracket.
2 Clip the selector cable in place.
2. Install the heat shield.
3. Lower the vehicle.





4. Connect the shifter cable.
1 Position the cable.
2 Install the bolts.
5. Adjust the selector cable.

Vehicles with 2.5L engine
6. Install the Air Cleaner (AC).
