Air Register: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the audio unit.
3. Remove the ashtray and cigar lighter bezel.
4. Remove the switch assembly.
1 Detach the switch assembly.
2 Disconnect the electrical connectors.
5. Detach the heater control/audio unit bezel.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Detach the heater control bezel from the clips.
6. Remove the heater control/audio unit bezel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the vacuum lines.
7. Remove the instrument panel lower panel.
8. Remove the lamp switch panel.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Detach the instrument panel from the clips.
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
10. Remove the instrument cluster bezel.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Release the clips.
3 Remove the bezel.
NOTE: Driver and center registers are part of the instrument cluster bezel.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
