Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)Removal
All vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the brake booster.
3. Remove the air cleaner support bracket.
4. Remove the instrument panel lower panel.
1 Remove the screw covers.
2 Remove the screws.
5. Detach the brake booster support brackets.
6. Remove the brackets.
Vehicles with air conditioning
7. Move the air conditioning tube support bracket to the side.
All vehicles
8. Remove the booster side support bracket.
1 Disconnect the clutch tube (if equipped).
2 Remove the bolt.
9. Remove the master cylinder fluid feed tubes.
10. Disconnect the hydraulic unit brake tubes.
11. Disconnect the hydraulic control unit electrical connector.
1 Release the retainer.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector.
12. Slacken the nuts.
13. Lift the hydraulic control unit off the bracket and maneuver off the vehicle.
Installation
NOTE: After installation, bleed the brake system.
1. NOTE: Ensure the hydraulic control unit is correctly fitted to the locating peg.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
