Vehicle Lifting: Service and Repair

JACKING

WARNING
- DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE WHEN JACKING THE VEHICLE. THE WHEELS CONTACTING THE GROUND COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MOVE.
- SUPPORT THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO PERFORMING ANY PROCEDURE REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE JACKED OFF OF THE GROUND.
- MAKE SURE THE JACK AND JACK STANDS ARE PROPERLY LOCATED TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM FALLING.
- WHEEL CHOCKS SHOULD BE USED TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AND FALLING OFF THE JACK.


Jacking Points - Front

WARNING: THE JACK PROVIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IS INTENDED TO BE USED ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY FOR CHANGING A DEFLATED TIRE. NEVER USE THE JACK FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.







The front jacking point is located at the transmission support crossmember.

Jacking Points - Rear

WARNING: THE JACK PROVIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IS INTENDED TO BE USED ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY FOR CHANGING A DEFLATED TIRE. NEVER USE THE JACK FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.







The rear jacking point is located at the rear floor cross member.

LIFTING

WARNING: CHECK FOR NECESSARY CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE UNDERBODY OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVE-ON HOIST.

CAUTION: The hoist must only contact all four vehicle contact points. Position the hoist pads so that they are in contact with the pinch welds.







Lifting Points - Front
The front lifting points are on the sides of the vehicle at the pinch welds.







Lifting Points - Rear
The rear lifting points are on the sides of the vehicle at the pinch welds.
