Ball Joint: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove the (A) lug nuts and the (B) wheel and tire assembly.





3. Remove the ball joint nut and the through bolt.





4. Separate the front suspension lower arm ball joint from the front wheel knuckle.





5. Remove the two ball joint nuts and remove the front suspension lower arm ball joint.











INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure noting the following:

NOTE: Apply Loctite 290 E2FZ-19554-B or equivalent thread locking compound meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A1 to the ball joint nut and ball joint bolt threads.
