Front

CONSOLE REMOVAL
1. Block the wheels firmly.
2. Move both front seats forward.
3. Remove two screws from the parking brake console panel.
4. Engage the parking brake.
5. Pull upward on rear of console and remove.

CONTROL REMOVAL
1. Release the parking brake control.

Park Brake. Signal Switch Connector:





2. Disconnect the parking brake signal switch electrical connector.

Park Brake. Signal Switch Adjuster:





3. Remove the adjusting nut.

Park Brake. Control Anchor Bolts:





4. Remove the two parking brake control bolts (1).
5. Remove the parking brake control (2).

CABLE REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove the three muffler shield bolts and remove the muffler shield.





3. Disconnect the (A) parking brake return spring and the (B) LH and RH parking brake rear cable and conduits from the (C) front parking brake cable and conduit.





4. Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit from the front floor pan.

CABLE INSTALLATION - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE: Tighten muffler shield bolts to 11-14 Nm (8-10 ft. lbs.)

CONTROL INSTALLATION - To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Tighten mounting nuts to 19-25 NM (14-18 ft. lbs.)

^ Adjust the parking brake. Adjustments

CONSOLE INSTALLATION - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
1. With the ignition switch in the "ON" position, verify that the brake warning indicator illuminates when the parking brake control is pulled.
2. If the warning indicator fails to illuminate, perform diagnosis. Refer To Testing and Inspection. Testing and Inspection
