Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair

WARNING: COPPER TUBING SHOULD NOT BE USED IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. USE ONLY SAE J526 OR JS27 STEEL TUBING, OR EQUIVALENT.

WARNING: BRAKE FLUID CONTAINS POLYGLYCOL ETHERS AND POLYGLYCOLS. AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES. WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER HANDLING. IF BRAKE FLUID CONTACTS EYES, FLUSH EYES WITH RUNNING WATER FOR 15 MINUTES. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IF IRRITATION PERSISTS. IF TAKEN INTERNALLY, DRINK WATER AND INDUCE VOMITING. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

NOTE: If a section of the brake tube is damaged, replace the entire section with tubing of the same size, shape, and length. Be careful not to kink or crack the tubing when bending it.

NOTE: Always clean the inside of a new brake tube with clean isopropyl alcohol.

CAUTION: If denatured alcohol is left in the system, it can cause eventual failure of rubber components in the system. Thoroughly dry any parts that have been cleaned with alcohol.

Inspect the brake tubes and hoses for damage, leakage, and proper routing. If damage is found, replace the tube or hose and bleed the hydraulic system.
