Rear
Rear Disc Brake Caliper:
REMOVAL
1. Remove rear brake caliper.
2. Remove inner and outer rear brake shoe and lining assemblies.
3. Inspect both rear disc brake rotor braking surfaces. Minor scoring or buildup of lining material does not require machining or replacement of rear disc brake rotor.
4. Hand-sand glaze from both rear disc brake rotor braking surfaces using garnet paper 100-A (medium grit) or aluminum oxide 150-J (medium).
Retracting Caliper:
INSTALLATION
1. Use a 4-inch C-clamp and wood block approximately 70 mm x 25 mm (2-3/4 inch x 1 inch) and 19 mm (3/4 inch) thick to seat hydraulic caliper piston in its bore. This provides necessary clearance for rear disc brake caliper assembly to fit over rear disc brake rotor during installation.
2. Remove all rust buildup from inside of outer shoe contact area.
3. Install inner rear brake shoe and lining in caliper piston and outboard surface of caliper. Do not bend shoe clips during installation in caliper piston or distortion and rattles can occur.
4. Install correct outer rear brake shoe and lining. Make sure clips are properly seated.
5. Install rear brake caliper.
