Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove Hydraulic Assembly.
2. Disconnect brake lines from valve body.





3. Remove three bolts holding pump and valve body to ABS mounting bracket.





4. Remove three Torx(r) bolts from valve body.





5. Separate pump from valve body. Note position of O-ring tab.





6. Remove reservoir and ABS fluid level switch from pump using a screwdriver.

ASSEMBLY
1. Lubricate pump seals with brake fluid and push on brake reservoir.
2. Place O-ring plate on valve body noting position of tab. Place pump on valve body and start three Torx bolts. Tighten to 21-29 Nm (16-21 ft. lbs.).
3. Install pump and valve body on ABS unit mounting bracket. Tighten three Torx bolts to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
4. Start brake lines into valve body. Tighten to 14-24 Nm (11-17 ft. lbs.).
5. Install Hydraulic Assembly.
6. Bleed brake system. Service and Repair
