Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner and air outlet tube.
2. Disconnect 19-pin connector attaching Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) to wire harness, then the 4-pin connector attaching HCU to pump motor relay.
3. Remove two inlet port tubes, then the four outlet tubes from HCU. Plug each port to prevent brake fluid from spilling on paint and wiring.
4. Remove three HCU to mounting bracket nuts, then the HCU from vehicle. The front nut on bracket also attaches the pump motor relay bracket.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
6. Torque HCU to mounting bracket nuts to 12-18 ft lb.
7. Torque HCU tube fittings to 10-18 ft lb.
