This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to revise the Dealer Coding, Basic Part No.

ISSUE:
The edge of the instrument panel substrate (foam) can be seen above the top of the RH A/C register. Alignment of the RH A/C register does not always cover the edges of the hole in the instrument panel.

ACTION:
Apply flock tape to the bottom of the A/C register to raise it and cover the edge of the substrate. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the RH A/C register by first pulling on the top of it to release the top snap tabs and then pulling on the bottom to release the bottom snap tabs. Remove the register from the instrument panel.

2. Trim the flock tape to 4O.0 mm (1-1/2") long.





3. Apply the flock tape over the bottom RH snap tab on the A/C register. On some vehicles, it may be necessary to install up to three (3) pieces of the flock tape to raise the register high enough to cover the exposed substrate edge. Refer to Figure 1.

4. Reinstall the register ensuring the flock tape is not pushed or rolled back while sliding the register back into the instrument panel.
