Clutch Disc: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove transaxle from vehicle.
NOTE: To avoid dropping the clutch disc when the bolts are removed, use clutch aligning tool No. T71P-7137-H or equivalent for 2.2L/4-133 turbo and 3.0L/V6-182 models or tool No. T74P-7137-K or equivalent on 1992 non-turbocharged models and all 1993-1996 models.
3. On Probe models, install flywheel lock tool No. T84P-6375-A or equivalent, into transaxle mounting hole on the engine, then engage the tooth of the locking tool into the flywheel ring gear.
NOTE: To avoid dropping clutch disc when bolts are removed, use clutch aligning tool No. T87C-7137-A or equivalent.
4. On Capri models, install flywheel lock tool No. T74P-6375-A or equivalent, into transaxle mounting hole on engine, then engage tooth of locking tool into flywheel ring gear.

5. On all models, remove bolts attaching pressure plate assembly to flywheel and the pressure plate assembly.
6. Remove clutch disc and the clutch aligning tool.
INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedure to install. Torque pressure plate assembly attaching bolts to 13-20 ft lbs.
