Brake Fluid Accumulator: Service and Repair

1. With hydraulic system discharged, disconnect battery ground cable and electrical connector at hydraulic pump motor.
2. Using a 8 mm hex wrench, loosen and completely unscrew accumulator. Ensure contaminants do not fall into open port.
3. Remove O-ring.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Install and torque accumulator to 30-34 ft. lbs. Turn ignition switch to On position and check that the red ``Brake'' warning lamp and the amber ``Anti-Lock'' warning lamp both go out after approximately 1 minute. Top off brake fluid reservoir if necessary.
