Fuel Pump ReplacementTechnical Instructions
Refer to the appropriate model year Shop Manual, Section 24 - 35, for the Fuel Pump Replacement Procedures.
IMPORTANT:
The top of the fuel tank should be carefully cleaned prior to removal of the pump/sender assembly to prevent contamination of the fuel in the tank. Contaminated fuel can plug the pump pickup filter and prevent adequate fuel from reaching the fuel pump to allow proper engine operation.
