Subject: Combined Owner Notification Program M57 and Emissions Recall 87E63 - Modifications To Certain 1988 Merkur Scorpio Vehicles
Vehicles Affected
All Merkur Scorpios built from Job #1 through August 28, 1987 are involved in this program.
Reasons for This Program
These cars will be modified to the latest production design levels. The items which must be serviced are determined by build dates. Refer to Attachment I (see page 4, 5) for details of the individual service operations.
Program and Refund Limitations
It is important to note that this is a combination Service Program and Emissions Recall. Therefore, there are considerations when applying limitations to the expiration of some components being serviced on the vehicles.
The service provided by Owner Notification Program M57 (Operations A through E and G through J) will be performed at no charge to owners for 12 months from the car's inservice date, 12,000-miles of operation or through March 31, 1988, whichever provides the greatest coverage.

Components in Operations A, C and G, may be covered under other warranties (6/60 Major Component or 12/unlimited coverages). These coverages are still available, however deductible amounts required will be owner responsibility after the 12-month/12,000-mile or March 31, 1988 limitations for this program.

There are no limitations for the service provided under Emissions Recall 87E63 (Operations F and K).
