Valve lash should be checked every 30,000 miles.

Front To Rear
Left ...............I-E-I-E-I-E
Right ...............E-I-E-I-E-I

VALVES, ADJUST

Position cam so that tappets are in base circle area on cylinder to be adjusted. Loosen adjusting screws until a gap between rocker arm pad and the valve tip end can be seen. Plunger of hydraulic tappet should now be fully extended.

1. Turn in adjustment screws until the rocker arms slightly touch the valves, then turn adjusting screw an additional one and a half turns.
