^ To simplify the preparation of claims, operation codes have been combined under a procedure number. In preparation of a claim, enter one "Causal" Basic Part Number, Labor Operation and Scheduled Time.
^ Deduct any TSB completion labor times when entering Scheduled Time.
^ Use the Claim Form 1863.
^ Enter "M57" in the Program Code box in the upper left of the 1863 forms. Claims must include standard claim preparation procedures including the information shown below.
a/ Includes time to verify/inspect for TSB repairs. Program Code - M57 Condition Code - 82
TSB Completions: For TSB operations previously completed, deduct the appropriate labor times, shown below, from the Scheduled Time column. Use the corrected Scheduled Time on Form 1863 where necessary.

OWNER REFUND REQUESTS
^ Owners will be reimbursed for Owner Notification Program M57 and
Emissions Recall 87E63 repairs performed at their expense prior to the announcement of this program, including any deductible charges. Owners must present their paid repair orders or over-the-counter parts purchase receipts to any Lincoln-Mercury dealership by March 31, 1988.
^ A copy of the paid repair orders showing the date and vehicle mileage
(at the time of repair) or over-the-counter parts purchase receipts must be retained in your service files for at least one year from the date of Company notification of payment.
^ Owner refund requests are to be submitted through Direct Warranty Entry
(DWE) System or mailed if you do not have DWE capability on a separate 1863 claim. Claims for owner reimbursement must be submitted by April 30, 1988. Claims submitted after that date will not be paid. In addition to the information shown in the special preparation of owner refund claims (Reference: Warranty and Policy Manual - Subject 6.1, page 18), please enter the information shown below:
Causal Basic Part Number - 9H307 Condition Code - 82 Labor Operation - REFUND Program Code - M57
^ An administrative allowance of 0.2 hours will be allowed for each eligible owner refund request. To claim the allowance, enter "ALLOW" in the Labor Operation No. column and "0.2" in the Scheduled Time column. Multiply the 0.2 hours by your warranty labor rate. Enter the result in the Amount column.
^ You should provide prompt refunds to eligible owners with proper repair documentation, regardless of the source of the original repair (your dealership, another Lincoln-Mercury dealership).
LOANER VEHICLES
^ Ford Motor Company will pay for rental cars except for fuel which will be at owners' expense. Dealers should attempt to stay within the ESP guideline of $30.00 a day.
^ The stated loaner vehicle provisions are applicable to this program. Loaner vehicles provided for service beyond the limits of this program will be controlled by the transportation allowances under the warranty.
^ Dealers must enter rental charges on warranty claim Form 1863 submitted for M57 program repairs as follows:
1. Enter causal part basic number on the last line of form.
2. Enter number of days loaner was used in the Quantity column.
3. Enter Condition Code PP (which identifies loaner) on the same line.
4. Enter "LOANER" in Labor Operation Number column.
^ Dealerships must keep receipts in service files for one year following the date of Company notification of payment.
